FAQ
- Is it just a chatbot?
- Superstrate's chat window looks like one, but a chatbot answers and forgets. Superstrate keeps what visitors told you, such as what made them hesitate or what they asked for that you don't offer yet. It then shows you the pattern, with their own words as evidence. Source
- How are Superstrate's answers different from a generic AI chatbot?
- The difference is where the answers come from. Superstrate answers only from knowledge your team has approved, and every change is checked against your own website before it reaches visitors. If something disagrees, you see the conflict underlined with the evidence, and nothing goes live until you publish it. Source
- Is Superstrate an SEO tool?
- SEO is part of Superstrate, not the whole thing. It checks for problems like pages Google can't index and broken links. It also tests whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode name you when they're asked the questions your customers ask. It shows readiness and what it observed, but it can't promise rankings. Source
- What have AI agents got to do with my website?
- AI agents, like those in ChatGPT or Claude, can search and ask questions on a person's behalf. Superstrate gives them a direct line to your business, so they get answers from information you've approved and a link to your own booking page. You can see what they asked. Source
- Who's behind Superstrate?
- Superstrate comes from Nikhil and Oli, marketers and entrepreneurs who have built businesses together since 2019 across marketing and technology, including products and automations. It's built and provided by Build Your Buzz Creative Studio in the Australian Capital Territory. Source
- Is Superstrate Australian?
- Superstrate is built in Australia by Build Your Buzz Creative Studio in the Australian Capital Territory, and it's priced in Australian dollars. Conversations, leads and bookings are stored in Sydney under the Australian Privacy Principles. Some AI and voice processing does happen overseas, and the Privacy Policy lists where. Source
- Can I see Superstrate working before I talk to anyone?
- Superstrate is running on this page right now, so ask it anything and watch how it answers and where it takes you. Every conversation here lands in our own dashboard, the same one your team would use. Source
- A$850 a month seems pricey for a website chat tool. Why so much?
- If it were only a chat box, I'd agree with you. The chat is just the part visitors see. The same A$850 founding rate, excluding GST, also keeps your business accurately represented to search engines and AI systems before anyone reaches your site. You're paying for the whole layer, not a widget. Source
- Why do I have to pay A$2,350 just to get started?
- That A$2,350, excluding GST, is the managed launch plus your first month, and most of it is work we do for you. We draft your knowledge with you, install and test it, then tune it weekly for two months. You pay A$500 to book and A$1,850 once it's live, then it's month to month. Source
- Is Superstrate actually worth the money?
- You shouldn't take our word for it, and you don't have to. It renews monthly with no minimum term, so you can judge it on what your dashboard shows: questions handled, contacts captured and bookings completed. If it isn't earning its place, you can stop before the next renewal. Source
- Will Superstrate guarantee us more leads or bookings?
- No honest product can guarantee that, and our Terms say plainly that we don't. What we can do is make sure the visitor with one question left at 10 pm gets an answer. You'll also see exactly how many enquiries and bookings came through. Source
- ChatGPT already answers questions about businesses like mine. Why do I need Superstrate for that?
- Which is why it matters what ChatGPT reads about you. Superstrate publishes your approved details in the files AI systems read. It then asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode the questions your customers ask, and shows whether you were named or who was named instead. You stop guessing what AI says about you. Source
- How is Superstrate different from Intercom or other AI chat tools?
- We can't speak for Intercom or other tools, so I'll stick to what we know. Superstrate also works before anyone reaches your website, preparing your business for search and AI. It checks whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode name you. A walkthrough is the easiest way to compare for yourself. Source
- Aren't there cheaper AI chat widgets out there?
- There are, and if a chat box is all you need, one might suit you better. Superstrate is for businesses that want it done properly without doing it themselves. We set it up, test it, and tune it with you every week for the first two months. Source
- Will it be pushy or salesy with our visitors?
- It only goes as far as you let it. Your team sets how much detail it gives and when it suggests a next step, and it only mentions offers you've approved. If your business prefers a lighter touch, that's a setting, not a hope. Source
- People don't trust AI. Won't they refuse to share their details?
- That worry is real: only 4% of Australians say AI companies are worthy of their trust (OAIC, 2026). So when someone leaves a phone number or email, it goes into protected fields. Those details go straight to the systems handling the request and never pass through the AI language model. Source
- Can you promise it'll never get anything wrong?
- AI can get things wrong, and we'd never pretend otherwise. Superstrate answers from what you approve, and a booking isn't confirmed until your connected system confirms it. The important commitments always rest with your business, not the AI. Source
- Isn't AI just a fad? Why invest in it now?
- The way people search has already shifted. When Google showed an AI summary, people clicked a result in 8% of visits, against 15% without one (Pew Research Center, 2025). Superstrate publishes your business through open standards like schema.org and MCP, so it isn't a bet on any one tool. Source
- We're a small business. Is Superstrate overkill for us?
- Size matters less than how your visitors decide: if they research before choosing or booking, Superstrate can be just as useful on a small business website. The subscription covers one business website, and we do the launch work for you, so you don't need a dedicated team to get it running. Source
- I don't have time to manage another tool.
- You won't have to, at least not at the start. We draft your knowledge with you, install and test it, then review real conversations every week for two months and send you a short write-up of what we improved. After that, your team keeps your information current, and we're there for support. Source
- What's the catch?
- The bit worth knowing is the A$500 booking payment. It's only refunded in set cases, such as if we miss the 10-day launch promise. If you cancel before launch, you owe the value of the work done, or A$500 if that's higher. After go-live, it's monthly with no early-exit fee. Source
- Are there hidden fees?
- None hidden, but some things are quoted separately: additional websites, extra voice minutes, custom integrations, and brand or messaging creation. GST is added only where legally payable. If you reach your 500 voice minutes, voice pauses until you agree to more, so there's no surprise bill. Source
- You're new. Why should I take the risk?
- We'd rather carry the risk than ask you to. Once your handover is confirmed in writing, we have 10 business days to have Superstrate ready, or your A$500 booking payment comes back in full. Behind it are Nikhil and Oli, who've been building businesses together since 2019. Source
- How do I know Superstrate actually works before I commit?
- You can try it right now. Superstrate is running on this site, so ask it something tricky and see where it takes you. For the business side, book a walkthrough and we'll show you the dashboard your team would use. Source
- What does Superstrate actually do before someone reaches my website?
- Often an AI has answered someone's question before they ever reach your site. Superstrate turns the information you approve into the formats search engines, AI assistants and AI agents read, and keeps it consistent with your own website. A business that's unclear to those systems can miss the shortlist entirely, so this is where the work starts. Source
- Is AI search really changing how people find businesses?
- The numbers suggest it is. Pew Research Center found in July 2025 that when Google showed an AI summary, people clicked a result in 8% of visits, against 15% without one. Fewer people click through when AI answers first, so what AI reads about your business deserves the same care as your website. Source
- What's schema.org structured data and what does Superstrate publish?
- It's a way of describing your business in a format search engines and AI systems read natively: what kind of business you are, where you are, your hours and your services. Superstrate publishes it as one connected graph with permanent identifiers, so those systems recognise you as one business wherever you appear. Source
- My website platform already adds schema. Won't Superstrate's clash with it?
- That's the situation it was designed around. Superstrate's structured data joins up with what your platform already adds, rather than competing with it. It also contains only what your website shows, so it never says more than your own pages do. Source
- What's llms.txt and does my business need one?
- It's a plain, machine-readable summary that tells AI systems what your website is about, and it's still an emerging convention. Superstrate publishes one for you, along with llms-full.txt, and keeps both in step with your website, so an AI assistant comparing options can find your key details in one place. Source
- Besides llms.txt, what other files does Superstrate publish for AI?
- There's a readable knowledge page and a discovery file that lists everything Superstrate publishes for your business. Every file shows when it was last updated, so you, or anyone checking, can tell at a glance how current it is. Source
- If I change something on my website, how quickly do the AI files catch up?
- Usually within minutes of Superstrate spotting the change. It checks your website through the day and rereads only the page that changed, so what search and AI systems read stays in step with your site within the hour. Source
- Will the AI files say things that aren't on my website?
- The public files never go further than your pages do. Search engines can treat information that disagrees with a page as a warning sign, so anything extra your team approves stays in conversations with visitors and AI agents, not in those files. Source
- What happens if I take a package off my website?
- Within the hour, it drops out of your structured data and llms.txt, because those files only carry what your website shows. Whether visitors should still hear about it in conversation is a separate call, and it's yours to make. Source
- Is MCP a real standard or just a passing trend?
- The backing behind it is hard to ignore. Anthropic reported in December 2025 that MCP is now an open standard under the Linux Foundation, supported by OpenAI, Google and Microsoft, with more than 10,000 public servers. Superstrate runs one for your business, so you're ready for agents that use it. Source
- What's WebMCP?
- It's a new browser standard that lets AI browsers use a website's own tools instead of guessing from the page. On your site, Superstrate gives them four: ask your business, find the right page, get the booking link and send an enquiry. Nothing about your website needs to change. Source
- What's NLWeb and why would Superstrate support it?
- NLWeb is an open project that lets AI systems query a website in plain language. Supporting it means one more kind of AI system can ask your business a question and get an answer grounded in what you've approved, with links to the relevant pages. Source
- What does an AI system actually get back from the NLWeb endpoint?
- It gets matching results as schema.org objects, each with a link to the relevant page on your website. Ask which packages include accommodation, for example, and it receives those packages with a link to each one. It can also request a summary or a written answer instead. Source
- Can Superstrate tell me if ChatGPT is reading my website?
- You'll see it as it happens. Superstrate detects the AI crawlers and assistants that fetch your pages, including GPTBot and ChatGPT-User, and your dashboard often shows which pages each one read. So instead of wondering, you can check. Source
- Why do the AI crawler numbers say 'at least'?
- Because we'd rather undercount than flatter you. Superstrate only counts what it can detect and verify, so each figure is a firm minimum, never an estimate. Whatever number you see, it really happened at least that many times. Source
- Can I see what AI agents asked about my business?
- You will find the searches and questions that led agents to your business right in your Superstrate account, logged with personal details removed. It is the same idea behind Superstrate as a whole: interest you would normally never see becomes something you can learn from. Source
- What does Superstrate's SEO check look for?
- It looks for the basics that quietly stop pages being found: pages that can't be indexed, unclear titles and headings, broken links and duplicate content. Each finding comes with its evidence, so your web team gets a specific issue to investigate. Source
- Why does old school SEO still matter if everyone's using AI?
- AI answers still lean on it. Google says a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet before it can be linked from AI Overviews or AI Mode. A page search engines skip is a page Google's AI can't link to, which is why Superstrate still checks the basics. Source
- What's AEO?
- Answer engine optimisation, or AEO, is about how clearly your website answers the questions people actually ask. Superstrate checks whether those answers are easy to pick out of your content, because an answer buried deep in a page is easy to miss. Source
- What's GEO, and how is it different from SEO?
- SEO asks whether search engines can reach and index your pages. GEO, or generative engine optimisation, asks how AI systems discover and describe your business. Superstrate checks both, and for GEO it goes a step further, asking AI tools your customers' questions to see what they actually say about you. Source
- Can I see which of my pages AI actually used in its answers?
- Your reports show which pages each AI read for an answer and whether yours were the ones it cited. You can also read the full answer, which often tells you more: when a competitor gets named, you'll see which sources the AI relied on. Source
- How often does Superstrate check my website?
- Every week, Superstrate audits your website for search and AI readiness. You don't have to wait for the next one, either: run a fresh check after making changes, or schedule regular checks, and compare the results with earlier ones. Source
- Why run the AI checks again and again? Isn't one enough?
- Because AI answers shift from one run to the next. SparkToro found in January 2026 that AI tools gave the same list of brands on a repeat run less than 1% of the time. A single check is a snapshot; repeated checks show the pattern you can actually act on. Source
- Will Superstrate get me to the top of Google or recommended by ChatGPT?
- That's not something anyone can honestly guarantee, and we don't. What Superstrate shows you is readiness and observed visibility: how well your site supports search and AI, and what those systems actually said. Your team gets a clear picture of what to fix, and a way to see whether it worked. Source
- What does Superstrate actually do for people while they're on my website?
- Mostly, it answers the questions people would otherwise leave to ask somewhere else. Visitors type or speak, and Superstrate replies from the information you've approved and the page they're reading. Sometimes a person needs just one more detail before choosing you. If it's 10 pm and your team has gone home, this is where they get it. Source
- Where does Superstrate get its answers from?
- Two places: the business knowledge your team has approved, and the page the visitor is reading right now. Someone on your packages page gets an answer that fits what's in front of them. Your approved knowledge can also cover what the website doesn't, like the policies and exceptions your team usually explains in person. Source
- How do I know it's not just guessing from my homepage?
- It doesn't start from your homepage. During the managed launch, we draft your business knowledge with you from your website and materials, and nothing is used until you approve it. Then we test it against real questions before it goes live, so you've seen how it answers before any visitor has. Source
- What happens when someone asks something it can't answer?
- A question it can't answer becomes something you can act on. It shows up in your dashboard as a gap, and Superstrate drafts an answer from what you've already supplied, flagging any fact it still needs. Once your team approves it, every visitor who asks after that gets the answer. Source
- Will it make up prices or tell someone a date is free?
- It won't do either. Superstrate only shares the prices you've published and the offers your team has approved, and it never makes up a quote or tells someone their date is free. Those questions go to your team, because commitments belong with the people who can honour them. Source
- Can it help someone who isn't sure which service they need?
- This is where it earns its place. Someone may know what they want to achieve without knowing which service gets them there, so Superstrate explains the relevant options from your own business information. A visitor torn between two consultations hears what each one is and can decide which to look into more closely. Source
- Does it just link to a page, or show them the bit they need?
- It can show them the bit they need. Superstrate scrolls to the relevant section and highlights the useful detail, so nobody is left hunting through a long page. It works on desktop and phone, including sections revealed by scrolling and pinned or animated layouts. Source
- Does the conversation follow people from page to page?
- It does, and that's much of the point. When Superstrate takes someone to another page, the conversation comes with them, so they can ask their next question there without explaining themselves again. Nobody should have to repeat themselves halfway through a decision. Source
- What happens to a voice conversation when someone moves to a new page?
- You decide that. Your team can set a voice conversation to resume in voice after a page change, or to come back in text. Reopening in text lets the visitor choose when to speak again, and either way the conversation carries on from where it was. Source
- Does Superstrate remember people who come back another day?
- It can, where you've switched that on. For recognised returning visitors, Superstrate can draw on context from an earlier conversation. That matters when people take several visits to choose a venue, a home or a specialist. Recognition relies on an anonymous identifier in their browser, so clearing browser storage starts them fresh. Source
- Do people have to hold a button to talk to it?
- Only if they want to. Visitors can hold the voice control while they speak, or choose a hands free conversation and simply talk. Either way, they can end the voice session or switch to typing whenever they like. Source
- What if voice won't connect for someone?
- The conversation carries on in text, so the visitor still gets their answer. If you want to check things yourself, your dashboard has one plain status line. It shows whether text and voice are working on your website, and you can check again at any time. Source
- What languages can Superstrate speak?
- Quite a few. Superstrate offers 70 voices across 32 languages, including Australian, British, American and Indian English, and visitors can type in a supported language too. You choose which languages to offer, and any you leave off are answered in English. Source
- Why bother with other languages if we're an Australian business?
- About one in five Australians speaks a language other than English at home, according to the 2021 Census. Your customers are Australians too. For a decision that matters, being able to ask in the language you're most comfortable using makes it easier. The answers still come from the same knowledge you've approved. Source
- How does Superstrate take bookings on my website?
- Once it's connected to a supported booking system, the assistant checks your available appointments, helps the visitor choose a time and completes the booking right there in the conversation. Their details go in through protected fields, and the appointment lands in your system like any other. Source
- Which booking tools does Superstrate connect to?
- We connect to more than 25 booking, calendar and CRM tools. Rather than guess whether yours is one of them, we'd rather look at your actual setup with you. A walkthrough at superstrate.com.au/book is the easiest way, and we'll talk through how bookings and enquiries would flow into what you already use. Source
- What if Superstrate doesn't support my booking system?
- If your tool isn't among the more than 25 we already connect to, and the connection would help Superstrate in the long run too, we'll build it especially for you at no extra cost. Other custom integrations are quoted separately, and we'll be clear about which is which on the call. Source
- What happens if Superstrate can't book directly?
- The visitor is guided to your own booking page to finish there. We can't see inside that tool, so anyone who chatted and then used your booking button on the same device within seven days is counted as a likely booking in your dashboard. Source
- Do I have to switch booking systems to use Superstrate?
- You keep the one you have. Superstrate completes bookings in the supported system your team already uses, so appointments land where you already manage them and nobody has to learn a new tool. It fits around how you work, not the other way round. Source
- Who sets up the booking and enquiry connections?
- That part is on us. During the managed launch, our team connects the supported booking or enquiry tools you need and tests everything against real questions before it goes live. You see the working build first, so nothing appears on your website until you've watched it do the job. Source
- Will the AI see my customers' phone numbers and emails?
- Those details stay out of the AI's reach. Visitors type them into protected fields, and they go straight to the systems handling the request, never through the AI language model. Your team still gets them with the enquiry. We built it this way because 78% of Australians feel they have little or no control over how their personal information is used. Source
- Can visitors ask for a callback?
- A visitor can ask for a callback, and the request reaches your team with their contact details and what they've already shared about their needs. That way the call carries on from the conversation instead of starting cold. Source
- How do I know when someone leaves their details?
- Your team gets a lead alert when someone leaves their details. It carries what they asked about, so your first reply can answer their actual question rather than opening with a round of back and forth. Source
- Can Superstrate send enquiries into our CRM?
- Where your CRM is a supported connection, captured enquiries go straight into it, so your team works from the tool it already relies on. A copy also stays in your Superstrate dashboard with the full context of the conversation behind it. Source
- Where do I manage enquiries once they come in?
- In your Superstrate dashboard. Each enquiry can carry notes and a status, contacted or closed, so anyone on your team can see what has happened without asking around. When you need the information elsewhere, you can export it. Source
- Will Superstrate email my customers without me knowing?
- Nothing goes out without your say. When a visitor asks for an email, or agrees to receive one, Superstrate prepares a draft and it waits for your team to review. You decide whether it's sent at all. Source
- Can visitors call or email us straight from the assistant?
- Reaching you shouldn't mean hunting for your number. Once the visitor confirms, Superstrate opens their phone or email app with your configured contact details, so they can get in touch through whichever channel they prefer. Source
- What happens to enquiries that come in after hours?
- This is where it earns its keep. A visitor on your site at 10 pm might need just one more detail, and Superstrate can answer it from your approved knowledge after your team has gone home. If they leave their details, a configured lead alert and a supported CRM connection mean the enquiry is waiting for you in the morning. Source
- What if our booking system goes down or the connection breaks?
- Should a connected system stop working, we'll tell you and restore our side of the connection within a reasonable time. Outages or errors inside your booking tool itself sit with that provider, as the Terms of Service set out, and we'd rather be honest about where our part ends. Source
- What are 'requests worth a closer look'?
- These are requests that keep coming up and that Superstrate couldn't meet. It might be a service you don't list, a question your approved information doesn't answer, or a time you don't have free. You read what people actually wanted, then decide whether that calls for clearer wording, a change to your offering or something new. Source
- Can Superstrate show me services people want that I don't offer?
- Often the most useful thing a visitor tells you is something you've never thought to offer, so Superstrate groups the requests it couldn't match to a listed service. A venue that keeps hearing elopement questions, for instance, would see how often they come up and read exactly what people asked. Whether to act on it is always your call. Source
- Will it tell me if people want times I don't have available?
- When visitors keep asking for times you don't have, Superstrate flags it as a recurring request your available appointments couldn't satisfy. Say evening appointments come up again and again. Your team can compare periods and read the actual requests before deciding whether later hours are worth a trial. Source
- How do I know these findings aren't just the AI making things up?
- You don't have to take a finding on trust. Each one opens to the visitor statements and interactions behind it, so you can read exactly what was said and judge it yourself before you change a package or a page. You stay in control of what you act on. Source
- Can Superstrate ask visitors questions I want answered?
- You decide what you'd like to learn, perhaps how people found you or what matters most when they compare options. Superstrate introduces those questions during suitable interactions. The answers then sit in your dashboard alongside your other visitor insights. Source
- Is the revenue figure real money?
- It's an estimate of potential, not money collected. Superstrate applies the service values you provide to enquiries matched to your services, which gives you a sense of what's in the pipeline. The dashboard says so plainly, because interest and revenue are different things. Source
- How does Superstrate count bookings made in my own booking system?
- Superstrate can't see inside your booking tool, so it counts these as likely bookings. That covers a visitor who chats and then uses your own booking button on the same device within seven days. Bookings it completes through a supported connection are counted as completed. Source
- Can I see where my visitors are based?
- You'll see approximate location for each visit, along with device and language. It's derived from the network connection rather than GPS. Superstrate stores that approximate location, not the IP address, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles we follow. Source
- Can I see where people drop off before booking?
- For each recorded step of a booking or navigation path, Superstrate shows how many visitors reached it, how many carried on and where they stopped. That points your team to the exact stage worth investigating, rather than guessing why people left. Source
- Can Superstrate tell me why someone left without booking?
- Superstrate can't read minds. It can show you what that visitor said, the concerns they raised and where they stopped, and whether the conversation ended with no next step recorded. Your team gets evidence to investigate instead of an assumption. Source
- Can I export the analytics?
- Your team can export available lead and analytics information whenever you need to work with it elsewhere. Your data stays yours. If you ever leave, you can request an export of your business knowledge, conversation records and leads up to 30 days afterwards, delivered within 14 days in a standard format. Source
- How do I update what Superstrate knows when something in my business changes?
- When something changes, you edit the relevant section in your dashboard, Superstrate checks it for problems, and you publish when you're happy. Changes only reach visitors once you publish, and a publishing history keeps a record of every version you release, so you can always see what changed and when. Source
- Do I have to write all of Superstrate's knowledge myself?
- You won't be starting from a blank page. During the managed launch, we draft your business knowledge with you from your website and materials, and later on Superstrate can draft new sections from your website too. Your part is reading, adjusting and approving, because nothing is used until you do. Source
- Can Superstrate tell visitors things that aren't on my website?
- That's one of the most useful things it does. Your website can't hold everything your team knows, like the policies and exceptions you usually explain in person, so you can give Superstrate those details to share with visitors once you approve them. The files search engines read still only contain what your website shows. Source
- What if Superstrate's suggested answer needs a fact it doesn't have?
- It stops and asks rather than guessing. Superstrate flags the exact fact it couldn't find in what you've already supplied, your team fills it in and approves the finished answer, and only then does it reach visitors. It's built to stay inside what your business has actually told it. Source
- What if I disagree with what the conflict check flags?
- Then you overrule it. The check underlines the conflict and quotes its evidence, but your team makes the call: accept the correction or keep your wording. It's there to catch mistakes, not to decide for you, and nothing reaches visitors until you publish. Source
- Can you give me an example of what the conflict check catches?
- Here's a common one. Your team updates the deposit amount in one section, but your website still shows the old figure. The check underlines the difference and quotes the evidence before anything goes live, so you can fix whichever one is wrong. Source
- What happens to Superstrate's answers when I change a page on my website?
- They stay in step with the page. Superstrate checks your website for changes through the day and rereads any page that changes. If an answer relies on that page, it stops being used until your team reviews it, so visitors aren't told something your website has since moved on from. Source
- Is there a record of what's been published to Superstrate?
- Every version you release is kept in a publishing history, including the answers your team approves for unanswered questions. So if you ever wonder when an answer changed or what it used to say, you can look back and see for yourself. Source
- Can Superstrate read pages from other websites, not just mine?
- It can, which helps when some of what visitors ask about lives on pages you don't own. Your team can add up to 20 further pages, including pages on other websites, and Superstrate reads each one again every 1 to 30 days to pick up changes. Source
- Which offers and promotions will Superstrate mention?
- Only the ones your team approves. Superstrate can find offers on your website, or you can add them yourself, and you check the wording, price and dates before approving each one. If an offer hasn't been approved, Superstrate won't mention it to visitors. Source
- Can I control when Superstrate suggests booking or getting in touch?
- You decide how soon it nudges. You can adjust when Superstrate suggests a next step and how much detail it gives first, so it follows the way your business likes to help people. Some businesses prefer a few questions answered before mentioning a booking, others a quicker path. Source
- How will I know when Superstrate needs something from me?
- It tells you rather than waiting to be noticed. Questions Superstrate couldn't answer show up in your dashboard marked as needing your input. The weekly digest, in your business's own week, also lists what's waiting for your team, so nothing quietly piles up. Source
- Can I control what Superstrate is allowed to do on my website?
- You decide which actions Superstrate can take and which pages or destinations it may open, and every browser action is checked against those permissions before it runs. You can pause a capability whenever you need to. We built it this way because speaking and acting for a business carries responsibility, so the boundaries should always be yours. Source
- Will Superstrate open pages or start a call without asking the visitor first?
- It asks first. Before opening another page, opening the visitor's phone or email app with your contact details, or opening directions to your location, Superstrate asks the visitor to confirm. They stay in charge of where they go, and your permissions decide what it can offer in the first place. Source
- What are protected fields?
- Protected fields are the boxes that appear on screen when Superstrate needs a name, phone number or email for a booking or enquiry. Whatever a visitor types there goes straight to the systems handling the request, such as your team or booking tool, without passing through the AI language model. Source
- What if a visitor types their phone number straight into the chat instead?
- Superstrate looks for common personal details in conversation text, such as phone numbers and email addresses, and removes them before AI processing and before storage where it detects them. Detection is automatic and won't catch everything, which is exactly why contact details are collected through protected fields instead. Source
- Does Superstrate record visitors' voices?
- Voice is processed for the conversation, and Superstrate doesn't keep a recording of it. Your team can still read a text transcript kept with the conversation record, so you can review exactly what happened without your business holding anyone's voice. Source
- Who actually handles the voice audio, and where does it go?
- Our speech provider, ElevenLabs, turns the visitor's speech into text and generates the spoken replies. It keeps that audio, transcript and generated speech in our account history in the United States until deleted, and may hold backup copies for up to 30 days after that. The Privacy Policy sets this out in full. Source
- Can ElevenLabs train its models on our visitors' voices?
- We switched off the setting that lets ElevenLabs train on our account data, with effect from 27 September 2026. To be straight with you, ElevenLabs' own terms may still let it use speech-to-text transcripts to improve its services, and we say so plainly in our Privacy Policy. Source
- Is my business data or my visitors' chats used to train AI?
- Nothing you or your visitors share is used to train or fine-tune AI models, ours or anyone else's. That covers conversations, visitor information and your business content. Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, the AI providers behind Superstrate, don't train on what we send either, under their terms for business customers. Source
- Which AI providers does Superstrate use, and do they keep our data?
- Superstrate runs on Google Cloud's Vertex AI, now called Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and Amazon Bedrock. Bedrock doesn't store what we send or share it with model makers. Google may hold prompts and responses, encrypted, for up to 24 hours to speed up replies, and log them for up to 90 days if its safety systems flag possible misuse. Source
- Where is our data stored? Is it kept in Australia?
- Conversations, leads, bookings and account data all live in Sydney, alongside the application and its logs. AI processing through Amazon Bedrock stays in Australia too, across Sydney and Melbourne. Some other processing does happen overseas, and the Privacy Policy names every provider and country involved. Source
- Does any of our data leave Australia?
- Some processing happens overseas, and we'd rather you hear that plainly. Google Cloud AI processing can run wherever Google has data centres, voice goes to ElevenLabs in the United States, and our search, email and website retrieval providers are based there too. The Privacy Policy lists every provider and country. Source
- How long does Superstrate keep conversations?
- Conversation text, and any personal details in it, is removed automatically 365 days after the conversation's last activity. A record without personal information stays behind, such as the date, page and outcome, so your analytics remain accurate over time. Source
- Do enquiries and bookings get deleted automatically too?
- Enquiries and bookings belong to your business, so they stay until your team deletes them. Keep in mind that deleting them in Superstrate won't recall emails already sent or clear copies in your CRM, calendar or other connected systems, so those need tidying up there as well. Source
- A customer wants a copy of their data, or wants it deleted. How do I handle that?
- Your authorised team can handle it from the Superstrate dashboard, which has controls for giving someone a copy of their information or deleting it. Those requests stay with the people you trust to handle them, and the same area lets you manage supported retention settings. Source
- Do I need to update my own privacy policy to use Superstrate?
- Your privacy policy will need to mention it. Our Terms ask that it tells visitors you use a third-party AI assistant, that conversations, and voice where enabled, are processed by AI and speech providers, some overseas, and where enquiries and bookings go. We can give you suggested wording, so you're not starting from scratch. Source
- What does Superstrate do if someone describes a medical symptom?
- Superstrate is designed to stay out of medical territory: it won't advise on symptoms or suggest treatments. If a visitor describes a health concern, it points them to a doctor or other qualified health professional, and if what they describe sounds serious, it tells them to call 000. Source
- Can we use Superstrate to give medical, legal or financial advice?
- Advice like that needs our written approval first. Health triage and medical, legal, financial or insurance advice are on that list, along with gambling, adult services, political campaigning, services aimed at children and decisions about credit, insurance, employment or housing. Superstrate is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call 000. Source
- Does Superstrate search the web, and what does it send?
- Web search is a fallback: Superstrate uses Brave Search only when your own information doesn't answer a question. The AI writes the query and leaves out the visitor's name and contact details, though businesses or people they mention may be included. Brave keeps search queries for up to 90 days. Source
- Can visitors give card details or passwords to Superstrate?
- Ordinary conversation is the wrong place for passwords, card numbers, security codes or government identifiers, and our Terms rule out collecting them that way unless a deployment is expressly approved and configured for it. Visitors are asked not to speak them, and card and tax file numbers are removed from chat text where detected. Source
- What happens if there's a data breach?
- We assess it and take steps to contain and fix it. If it's likely to cause serious harm, we notify the affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and we tell affected customers without undue delay. Source
- Does Superstrate put trackers in visitors' browsers?
- The assistant stores a random, anonymous identifier in local storage to recognise return visits, plus short-lived session entries that carry a conversation across page changes. The identifier has no set expiry and goes when the visitor clears their browser storage. If a business turns on website observation, small page resources also measure page activity. Source
- Can visitors ask questions without giving their name?
- Asking a question doesn't require a name or contact details, though technical identifiers may still be processed. Only some actions, like a callback or a booking, need identifying details, and those go through protected fields the AI language model never sees. Source
- How much does Superstrate cost?
- It's A$850 a month for one business website, plus a one-time A$1,500 managed launch where we do the setup for you. That monthly figure is our founding rate for the first 10 businesses, and it covers every feature. All prices are in AUD and exclude GST. Source
- Is A$850 a month the normal price or a special deal?
- A$850 is our founding rate, a thank-you to the first 10 businesses that come on board early. Once those places are taken, new subscriptions move to the standard rate. We'll confirm which one applies to you when we talk, and it's written into your Service Order. Source
- What will Superstrate cost once the founding places are gone?
- The standard rate isn't published on our website, so we can't give you a figure here. The founding rate closes once the first 10 places are taken. A walkthrough is the place to ask, and the team confirms your rate in your Service Order. Source
- What happens to my price after the first 12 months?
- After the first year the rate can change, but never quietly. You'd get at least 60 days' written notice with the new amount and the date it starts, and it only takes effect at a renewal after that. If it doesn't suit you, you can cancel before then with no exit fee. Source
- Does the 12 month rate protection lock me in for a year?
- The protection works one way: it holds your price, not you. Your subscription still renews monthly, so you can cancel in any month without paying out the rest of the 12 months. We'd rather earn each month than lock you into it. Source
- If I cancel and come back later, do I get my old rate back?
- A new subscription is priced at whatever's on offer when you sign up again, because rate protection only follows a continuous subscription. If you're on the founding rate, that's worth weighing up before you cancel, since those places are limited to the first 10 businesses. Source
- What do I actually get for the A$1,500 launch fee?
- It pays for us doing the launch for you, start to finish. We review the brand and messaging you already have, draft your business knowledge with you, then install, connect and test Superstrate on your existing site. For two months after go-live, we tune it every week and send you a short write-up. Source
- How do the payments work, step by step?
- There are three steps. You pay A$500 to book your launch, which holds your place and starts the work. Once Superstrate is ready and deployed, you pay A$1,850, covering the rest of the launch and your first month. From then on, it renews monthly at A$850, excluding GST. Source
- Is the A$500 booking payment on top of the launch fee?
- The A$500 comes out of the A$1,500 launch fee rather than sitting on top of it. It holds your place and starts the work, and the remaining A$1,000 is paid once Superstrate is deployed on your website. Source
- Why do I pay A$1,850 at go-live?
- That A$1,850 is simply the remaining A$1,000 of your launch plus your first A$850 month, nothing extra. You pay it once you've seen the build, testing is done and Superstrate is live on your website, not because a date passed or we started work. Source
- When does my monthly subscription actually start?
- Billing starts the day Superstrate goes live on your website, not when we begin the launch work. It's charged monthly in advance from that date and renews automatically. If a month doesn't have your renewal date, it falls on that month's last day. Source
- Do Superstrate's prices include GST?
- All prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST. GST is added only where it's legally payable, and when it is, your invoice shows the GST amount and the total. You'll get a tax invoice where one is required. Source
- If GST changes, does my protected rate change?
- Rate protection covers the price excluding GST, so it fixes what we charge, not the tax the law sets. If our registration status or the tax treatment changes, GST may apply to later supplies. We'll tell you before collecting any adjusted recurring payment. Source
- What's included in the monthly subscription?
- The whole platform, with no feature tiers to climb. Your subscription covers every feature, unlimited text interactions, 500 voice minutes a month and technical support by email or phone. Some features depend on your setup and connected tools, but none sit behind a higher plan. Source
- Is text really unlimited, or is there a catch?
- The only limits are there to protect the service. There's no numerical cap or per-message charge on ordinary text interactions on your website. We can apply proportionate technical limits against automated abuse or attacks, but never as a hidden cap or an excuse for charges you haven't approved. Source
- How are voice minutes counted?
- Minutes are counted by the length of the connected voice session, including time spent listening and responding, not just while a visitor is talking. Your 500 minutes are shared across every voice session on your website in each monthly billing period. Source
- What happens when I hit 500 voice minutes?
- Text carries on as normal, so visitors can still type their questions and get answers. Voice can pause until your next billing period, or until you approve extra capacity. We never charge for extra voice without agreeing it with you first. Source
- Can I buy more voice minutes, and will I get a surprise bill?
- Extra voice capacity is quoted separately and only added once you agree to it. We never automatically upgrade your subscription or charge for voice you haven't approved, so a busy month can't turn into a surprise invoice. Source
- How do I keep track of how many voice minutes are left?
- The dashboard shows voice minutes used against your allowance, split by website, so you can check at any point. We also explain how minutes are measured before go-live, so you know what counts before visitors start talking. Source
- We run a few websites. How is that priced?
- Superstrate works whether you run one location or several websites, and each website is priced on its own. The subscription covers one business website. Additional websites or brands get a separate quote, and voice minutes aren't pooled across subscriptions unless agreed. Source
- Do www and non-www count as two websites?
- Your www and non-www addresses count as one website, and so do domains that only redirect to it. A subdomain or related site is different if it needs its own business information, setup or reporting, and any charge for that is agreed with you first. Source
- Is support included or is that another fee?
- Technical support by email or phone is part of your subscription, not an add-on. It covers problems with Superstrate and help using your deployment. Website redesign, campaign management and custom development sit outside it unless we've expressly agreed otherwise. Source
- What actually happens in the managed launch?
- We do the launch for you, in five stages: onboarding, a review of your existing brand and messaging, drafting your business knowledge with you, a build review, then testing and deployment. We confirm each stage in writing as it's completed, so you always know where things are up to. Source
- What's the brand and messaging review?
- Think of it as us listening to how your business already talks. We look at how you name and describe your services and offers, how your policies and claims are worded, and where pages disagree. Then we flag what needs resolving so Superstrate speaks the way you do. Source
- We've got brand guidelines from an agency. Will you use them?
- They're exactly what we want to work from. The review covers your website, your materials and any brand identity or guidelines from your own marketing team or an external agency. That way Superstrate sounds like the business your agency helped you define. Source
- Will you rewrite our messaging or redo our brand as part of the launch?
- The launch works with the brand and messaging you already have. We don't create a brand or write messaging from scratch. If you need new naming, positioning, tone of voice guidelines, a logo or fresh marketing copy, we quote that separately, and our marketing team at Build Your Buzz can help. Source
- Do I get to see it working before visitors do?
- You see it first, every time. In the build review, you approve the answers, and we configure the assistant, connect your systems and show you the working build. Nothing is deployed until you've seen it and testing is complete. Source
- When does Superstrate actually go live on our website?
- It goes live on a date you agree to, not one we pick for you. Superstrate goes live once the agreed service is installed and available on your website, and we confirm completion and your subscription start date in writing. Going live never waives your right to report defects. Source
- What happens after launch? Do you just leave us to it?
- Far from it. For two months after go-live, we review your real visitor conversations every week and send you a short write-up of what we improved. You get to watch it handle real visitors while we tune it. Source
- What's the monthly call after launch?
- It's a 30-minute catch-up at the end of each of the first two months, and it's entirely optional. We go through the changes we've made and show your team around the dashboard, so they're comfortable using it. Source
- What happens once the two months of tuning are over?
- From there, your team takes the wheel: you keep your business information current and decide which improvements to make. We stay close through technical support. We act on your requests as soon as reasonably possible, just without a fixed weekly schedule. Source
- When does the 10-day clock actually start?
- The clock starts when we confirm in writing that your business knowledge handover is complete, not on the day you book. That gives us both one clear date to count the 10 business days from. Source
- What counts as ready under the 10-day promise?
- Ready means the build is complete, tested and ready to show you for a final review. Going live still waits for your approval. The promise covers our side of the work, and the final say stays with you. Source
- What if I'm slow getting things to you? Does the clock keep running?
- The clock pauses, which keeps the promise fair to both of us. The 10 business days stop while we're waiting on you, your marketing team or a third party you rely on, such as your website platform or booking tool. They pick up again once we have what we need. Source
- What happens if you miss the 10 days?
- First, you hear about it from us in writing. We then refund your A$500 booking payment to the original payment method within 2 business days of your reply. That promise sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not in place of them. Source
- If you miss the deadline, can I still go ahead with the launch?
- Going ahead is entirely your call, and the refund still stands. If you want to continue, we show you the build within the following 7 days. At deployment, you pay the remaining A$1,000 of the launch plus your first month, with no booking payment. Source
- Is the 10-day promise just a marketing line?
- It's written into our Terms of Service, so you can hold us to it. The Terms set out when the clock starts, what ready means and how quickly the refund is paid. That's how we think a promise should work. Source
- If we take a while to approve go-live, will you start billing us anyway?
- Billing starts at deployment, not while you're still deciding. There is one limit. If the service is ready and you haven't approved it or told us what needs fixing within 30 days of our written request, we may end the launch and invoice the stages completed. Source
- How do I know what each launch stage is worth?
- It's all in your Service Order, before any work begins. That document sets out the value of each of the five stages, which together make up the A$1,500 launch fee. You receive it, along with the Terms, before we ask for any payment. Source
- What if we want something added that wasn't in the agreed launch?
- We quote anything outside the agreed scope for your approval before we do any chargeable work, so there are no surprises on an invoice. If we've fallen short of what we agreed, fixing it is on us and never a chargeable extra. Source
- Will you tell us if the launch timeline slips?
- You'll hear it from us promptly, and we ask the same of you. If either side sees a likely delay, we flag it and agree a revised date together. Any estimated date depends on timely access, information and approvals. Source
- Am I locked into a contract with Superstrate?
- Superstrate runs month to month, with no minimum term and no early-exit fee. We'd rather earn your next month than lock you into it. Your rate is protected for your first 12 months while you stay subscribed, but that's a promise from us, not a commitment from you. Source
- What's the deadline to cancel before I'm charged again?
- The deadline is 11:59 pm Canberra time on the day before your renewal date. Your renewal date matches the day Superstrate went live on your website each month. If a shorter month doesn't have that date, renewal falls on the last day of that month instead. Source
- Does my cancellation count if nobody's replied to my email yet?
- It counts the moment it reaches us before the deadline, whether or not anyone has written back. Your cancellation doesn't depend on our acknowledgement. We'll still confirm the effective date, so you have a clear record of when your Superstrate access ends. Source
- If I cancel halfway through the month, do I lose access straight away?
- Cancelling stops the next charge, not the service. Superstrate keeps running on your website until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, so you get the full month. The only exception is an earlier lawful suspension. Source
- Will I get money back for the days left in the month after I cancel?
- Because Superstrate's monthly fee is paid in advance, we don't refund leftover days simply because you change your mind, unless the law or the Terms require it. What you get instead is the rest of that month: your access carries on until the paid period ends. Source
- Is the A$500 booking payment refundable?
- The A$500 is a part-payment of your A$1,500 Superstrate launch, not an extra charge, and it holds your place while we start the work. It's non-refundable, except under our 10-day launch promise, where the law requires a refund, or if we cancel before deployment for reasons unrelated to your breach. Source
- What if I change my mind before Superstrate goes live?
- You can still walk away, and you'd only pay for the work we've actually done. That's the value of the launch stages completed, as set out in your Service Order, or A$500 if that's higher. No subscription fee applies, because your subscription only starts when Superstrate goes live. Source
- What happens if Superstrate pulls out before my launch?
- That one's on us. If Superstrate cancels before deployment for reasons unrelated to your breach, we refund what you've paid for launch work we haven't delivered, plus any subscription charges for service we haven't supplied. Your statutory remedies stay available as well. Source
- What exactly am I signing when I sign up with Superstrate?
- Two documents: our Terms of Service and your Service Order, which is the written quote, proposal or order confirmation setting out your website, launch scope, integrations and fees. You'll have both in hand before Superstrate asks for any payment, so nothing you're agreeing to comes as a surprise. Source
- Can I take my data with me if I leave Superstrate?
- Your data leaves with you. Ask any time before your subscription ends, or within 30 days after, and we'll export your approved business knowledge, conversation records and leads within 14 days in a standard format. We built Superstrate so you stay in control, and that includes the day you leave. Source
- Who owns my leads and conversations if I cancel?
- They stay yours. You keep your rights in your visitors' conversations, your leads and the business materials you gave us, while Superstrate keeps its rights in the platform itself. We never stop you using the reports and exports we've supplied. Source
- What happens to my records after I leave Superstrate?
- Once your 30 day export window closes, Superstrate deletes or de-identifies the records it holds for you within a further 60 days. We only keep them longer where the law requires it or a dispute needs them, and an authorised person can ask for deletion sooner. Backup copies are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Source
- Is there anything I need to do on my end after cancelling?
- A little housekeeping. Remove the Superstrate installation script from your website and revoke any integration permissions you granted. Ending the subscription doesn't cancel bookings or delete what's already in your booking tool, CRM or other connected systems, so those copies are yours to tidy up. Source
- Do you have a no refunds policy?
- We don't hide behind one. Your Australian Consumer Law guarantees can't be excluded, and Superstrate's booking payment, cancellation, AI and liability clauses all sit under them. If you think we've fallen short, email hello@superstrate.com.au and we'll assess it on its own circumstances, not a blanket rule. Source
- What if Superstrate has a major failure?
- The Australian Consumer Law covers you there, and nothing in Superstrate's Terms takes that away. A major failure entitles you to cancel and get a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value, plus compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Source
- What if there's a problem with Superstrate that isn't a major failure?
- Then the problem should be fixed within a reasonable time. That's your right under the Australian Consumer Law, and if it isn't put right, you can cancel your contract and get a refund for the unused portion. Tell us at hello@superstrate.com.au and we'll assess it. Source
- Can you change the Terms on me after I've signed?
- Any change that materially disadvantages you comes with at least 60 days' written notice and an explanation, and you can cancel before it takes effect. If it has to land during a prepaid period and you cancel because of it, Superstrate refunds the unused affected portion. Changes never apply backwards either. Source
- Can either side end the Superstrate contract for breach?
- Either side can, and it works the same both ways. If one of us commits a material breach and doesn't fix it within 14 days of written notice describing it, the other can terminate. Immediate termination applies where the breach can't reasonably be fixed, and any statutory right to end sooner still stands. Source
- What happens to my agreement if Superstrate moves to a new company?
- Your rights come with you. We can transfer the agreement to an entity that takes over Superstrate, such as a company formed by Build Your Buzz's partners, but only with written notice and without reducing your rights. If you'd rather not go along with it, you can cancel without an exit fee. Source
- How are contract disputes with Superstrate handled?
- Start with a conversation. Email hello@superstrate.com.au with the issue and the outcome you're after, and we'll acknowledge it and work in good faith to resolve it. If it's still unresolved after 30 days, we can both agree to mediation, though that never stands in the way of your statutory rights. Source
- Which state's law applies to my Superstrate contract?
- The laws of the Australian Capital Territory govern your Superstrate agreement, and both sides submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. That doesn't stop you bringing a claim in another forum where the law gives you that right. Source
- How does Superstrate actually get onto my website?
- It goes on with one installation script, added to the website you already have. Superstrate sits alongside your existing pages, so visitors can use it as they explore, and nothing about your site gets rebuilt. Our team does the installing for you as part of the managed launch. Source
- Will Superstrate work on our website?
- Superstrate was built to sit on the website you already have, so you don't have to change your site to suit it. For a proper answer about your particular site, book a walkthrough. Before you commit, we go through the managed launch and any additional requirements your site has, so nothing catches you out later. Source
- Can we control which websites or domains it shows up on?
- Your team decides where Superstrate is allowed to appear. Your www and non-www addresses, and domains that simply redirect to your site, count as the same website. A subdomain may need its own deployment if it needs separate information or settings, and we agree any extra cost with you before work begins. Source
- Does it work on phones as well as desktop?
- Phones work as well as desktop. Someone scrolling on their phone can just ask out loud instead of typing. When Superstrate takes them to a page, it can scroll to the detail that answers them and highlight it, including pinned or animated layouts. Source
- What are Signature, Calm and Margin?
- They're the three ways Superstrate can present itself on your website. Your team picks one, and a live preview shows it on screen before you publish. You can try each one against your own pages before any visitor sees it. Source
- What's the difference between Lamina and The Crest?
- Both describe how Superstrate looks while it's resting, waiting for a visitor to start. Lamina is the quiet option. The Crest carries your own logo, so your brand is visible before anyone asks a question. Source
- Does it make sounds? Can we change them?
- Superstrate does have sounds, and choosing them is part of setting up how it presents on your site. Your team sets them to suit your business and can check them in the live preview before anything is published. Source
- Won't it just look like every other chat widget?
- The aim is for it to feel like part of your business, not something bolted on. The Crest can carry your logo, and the signature line and buttons take your colours. Visitors are greeted by the name and greeting you choose. You check it all in a live preview before publishing. Source
- Can we see what it looks like before it goes live on our site?
- You'll see it well before your visitors do. During the managed launch, we show you the working build and finish testing, and we only deploy after that. Later appearance changes work the same way, with a live preview on screen before you publish. Source
- Could we give it a human name so it feels more personal?
- You choose the displayed name, but Superstrate is always upfront that it's an AI assistant. It says so at the start of every text and voice conversation, and our Terms don't allow presenting it as a person. Only 4% of Australians say AI companies are worthy of their trust, so being honest matters. Source
- Can we switch voice off and just have text?
- Text only is a single setting, because your team chooses text, voice or both. If you'd rather start with text and add voice later, that's your call, and unlimited text interactions are included either way. Source
- How many voices are there? Can it sound Australian?
- There are 70 voices across 32 languages to choose from. They include Australian English, along with British, American and Indian English. Pick the one that sounds right for your visitors. Any language you leave off is answered in English. Source
- It's going to butcher our business name, isn't it?
- It doesn't have to. You can teach Superstrate up to 200 pronunciations for your names and terms, and preview each one before saving. Once your business, suburb or product name is in, every voice answer says it the right way. Source
- Will it understand visitors when they say our service names or local place names?
- That's what key terms are for. You can give Superstrate up to 50 words to listen for, like your service names and local place names. That helps it hear them correctly when visitors speak, so a local suburb or an unusual service name doesn't trip it up. Source
- How do I know it's actually working on our site?
- Check the overview in your dashboard. One plain status line tells you whether text and voice are working on your website, and you can check again at any time. Our team also watches the services behind it, so you're not the only one keeping an eye out. Source
- What if something goes down? Do you guarantee uptime?
- There's no guaranteed service level unless one is expressly agreed in your Service Order, so raise any uptime needs before you sign. Our team watches the services behind Superstrate. If voice can't connect, Superstrate carries on in text, so visitors aren't left without answers. Source
- Will it sound like our brand, or like a generic chatbot?
- During the launch, we review the brand, tone and messaging you already have. We flag anything that disagrees from page to page and set Superstrate up to speak the way you do. We work with your existing voice rather than inventing a new one. Source
- What does Superstrate actually do for a wedding or event venue?
- Superstrate does for a venue what it does for any business. Nikhil and Oli built it because businesses work to earn attention, then learn little once people reach the website, so it helps you get found on Google and in tools like ChatGPT and shows you what couples and organisers want and what makes them hesitate. It runs on the website you already have. Source
- What happens when an office manager asks ChatGPT for a room for 60?
- For ChatGPT to suggest you, it needs to find your rooms and capacities stated clearly. Superstrate turns what you've described into files AI tools can read, linked from your website, and those files never say more than your pages do. Nobody can guarantee a mention, but the right facts will be there to find. Source
- Can visitors just ask out loud on their phone?
- Visitors can ask out loud while scrolling on their phone, like a couple checking whether dogs can come to the ceremony, and the spoken reply arrives with captions alongside. If they'd rather type, they can, and Superstrate doesn't store recordings of their voice. Source
- Why would I want my business in an AI agent connector?
- More of the research now happens before anyone reaches your website. Pew found that when Google showed an AI summary, people clicked a result in 8% of visits, against 15% without one. Being in the connector means an agent researching for someone can find your business and get your answers, straight from what you approved. Source
- How does an AI agent connect to Superstrate? What's the address?
- The address is https://api.superstrate.com.au/mcp/public, and it uses the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, over Streamable HTTP. Look for Superstrate in your AI app's connector directory first. If it isn't listed there, add it as a custom connector using that address. Source
- Does someone need to sign in or create an account to use the Superstrate connector?
- Anyone can use it without signing in or creating an account. We receive the agent's search or question and the business it is asking about, but not the person's name, email address or account details, unless they or their agent choose to include them in the request. Source
- What tools does the Superstrate connector give an agent?
- Three, and they follow the way a person would naturally shop around. find_businesses returns up to five businesses that match what the person needs, ask_business puts a question to one of them, and get_booking_link hands back a link to that business's own booking or enquiry page. Source
- How does find_businesses work?
- The agent describes what the person needs in plain words, for example, a month long tour of Thailand that includes Phuket. The tool then returns up to five matching businesses, with what each one offers and why it matches, so the agent can explain its shortlist. Source
- What does an agent get back when it uses ask_business?
- It gets back the business's answer along with the pages that answer came from. That matters because the agent, and the person it is helping, can check the source instead of taking a summary on trust. The answer itself comes only from what the business has approved. Source
- What does the booking link tool actually do?
- It hands the agent a link to the business's own booking or enquiry page, ready for the person to open. From there, the person finishes the booking or enquiry themselves and chooses exactly what to send. The agent points the way; the person decides. Source
- Can an AI agent book or pay for something through the Superstrate connector?
- That is deliberately off the table. The connector only reads: it never books, pays or sends a message for anyone. An agent can research a business and pass on a booking link, but the person always finishes the booking on the business's own page, where they choose what to send. Source
- Will the Superstrate connector pass my visitors' contact details to AI companies?
- Your visitors' contact details never travel through the connector. What an agent, and the AI service it runs on, receives is your approved public information, such as your name, website, services and answers. Contact details your visitors share stay with you and the systems handling their request. Source
- Could an agent get hold of things I haven't approved for the public?
- Agents only ever get what you have approved for public answers. Private visitor conversations and enquiry contact details aren't designated for publication, so they stay out of it. You decide what goes into that public set, which is the whole idea: your business stays in control of what it says. Source
- How do I turn off my connector listing?
- Open your Superstrate account, go to Search and AI visibility and switch the listing off. It takes effect straight away, so agents stop finding your business through the shared connector from that moment, and you can make that call at any time. Source
- If I switch off the listing, does my website assistant stop working?
- Your website assistant carries on exactly as before. Switching off the listing only removes you from the shared connector, and your business's own agent tools keep working too. So you can step out of the connector without touching anything your visitors see on your site. Source
- How is the shared connector different from my business's own MCP server?
- One is a shared directory, the other is yours alone. Through the shared connector, agents search across every listed business, then ask one of them. Your own MCP server is a direct line to your business, where agents ask questions, search your approved knowledge and get a booking link, with every request recorded in your dashboard. Source
- Does Superstrate store the IP address of agents using the connector?
- We use the IP address and user agent of each request to deliver it and prevent misuse, and we don't store the IP address. That sits within how we handle information generally under the Australian Privacy Principles. The full detail is in section 3 of our Privacy Policy. Source
- Who's responsible if an AI agent summarises my answer badly?
- We supply the answer from your approved information, along with the pages it came from. AI agents and the services they run on have their own terms, and how they present, summarise or act on that answer sits with them. Those source pages give the person a way to check the original. Source
- What is SuperstrateBot?
- SuperstrateBot is the reader that keeps Superstrate's assistants current. It reads the public pages of websites whose owners use Superstrate, so the assistant on each site answers visitors from up-to-date content rather than a stale copy. Source
- Which part of the SuperstrateBot user agent should my rules match on?
- Match on the word SuperstrateBot. The version number in the user agent changes with Superstrate's releases, so a rule tied to one exact string would quietly stop working after the next update. Source
- Can you send me SuperstrateBot's IP addresses so I can whitelist them?
- There's no fixed list to send, because the reader runs on Google Cloud and its addresses change. The reliable way is to identify it by user agent, matching on the word SuperstrateBot, so your rule keeps working whatever address it arrives from. Source
- Does SuperstrateBot log in or get into members-only areas?
- Anything behind a login stays private. SuperstrateBot reads public pages only and never logs in, so members' areas are out of its reach. If there's something visitors should know that isn't public, your team can supply it as extra knowledge instead, and you decide what goes in. Source
- Could SuperstrateBot fill in our contact form and send us junk enquiries?
- Your contact form is safe from it. SuperstrateBot only reads public pages: it never submits forms, never buys anything and never books anything, so it won't land junk in your inbox or touch your checkout or booking system. Source
- Why is some bot called SuperstrateBot hammering my site? Will it slow things down?
- It's built to be a light touch. SuperstrateBot makes at most 2 requests at a time to one site, at least half a second apart, and honours a Crawl-delay if you want it slower still. If you're seeing heavier traffic than that, email hello@superstrate.com.au and tell us what's in your logs. Source
- Does SuperstrateBot honour Crawl-delay?
- A Crawl-delay of up to 10 seconds is respected. Set it under User-agent: SuperstrateBot, or under your asterisk rules if there's no SuperstrateBot group, and the reader will space its requests to your site accordingly. Source
- Does SuperstrateBot follow robots.txt?
- Your robots.txt is in charge. SuperstrateBot looks first for rules written specifically for it, and if there aren't any, it follows the asterisk rules that apply to every bot. So the rules you've already written cover it straight away. Source
- How do I block SuperstrateBot?
- Two lines in your robots.txt will do it: User-agent: SuperstrateBot, then Disallow: /. The reader follows robots.txt, so it will stay off your pages, and that's entirely your call to make. Source
- We use Superstrate. Does it matter if our site blocks SuperstrateBot?
- It matters more than it looks. SuperstrateBot is how your assistant keeps up with what your pages currently say, so if robots.txt, a firewall or bot protection turns it away, its answers can fall behind your website. It's worth a quick check that it gets through. Source
- Our firewall keeps blocking SuperstrateBot. How do we let it in?
- Begin with robots.txt: add User-agent: SuperstrateBot followed by Allow: /. If your firewall or bot protection still blocks it, add an allow rule that matches the word SuperstrateBot in the user agent, since the reader runs on Google Cloud and its IP addresses change. Source
- We added the Cloudflare Skip rule and SuperstrateBot is still blocked. What now?
- Some Cloudflare plans don't let a rule skip Bot Fight Mode, so it may need to be turned off for SuperstrateBot to get through. That's a trade-off only you can weigh. If you're still stuck, email hello@superstrate.com.au with what you're seeing so the team can look at it with you. Source
- Does SuperstrateBot run JavaScript?
- When a plain fetch comes back with too little text, SuperstrateBot may load the page in a headless browser. That way, content your site builds with scripts can still be read, rather than the reader seeing a page that looks almost empty. Source
- Why is SuperstrateBot visiting our site when we don't even use Superstrate?
- Apart from customer websites, SuperstrateBot visits a site when a website check has been requested for it, and reads its public pages only. If you'd rather it stayed away, add User-agent: SuperstrateBot and Disallow: / to your robots.txt, or email hello@superstrate.com.au. Source
- Is SuperstrateBot just scraping my content to train AI?
- Training AI isn't what it's for. SuperstrateBot reads public pages so a business's assistant answers from current content, or to run a website check that's been requested. Superstrate doesn't use business content, conversations or visitor information to train or fine-tune AI models, its own or anyone else's. Source
- How often does SuperstrateBot come back to a customer's website?
- For customer websites, Superstrate checks for changes through the day. When a page changes, only that page is read again, and the files search engines and AI systems read follow within minutes, each showing when it was last updated. Source
- Where's the official SuperstrateBot documentation?
- Everything is at superstrate.com.au/bot, last updated 30 September 2026. It covers how to recognise SuperstrateBot, how it behaves, and the exact robots.txt lines and Cloudflare rule to block or allow it. Anything it doesn't answer can go to hello@superstrate.com.au. Source
- How do I explain Superstrate to a client in a sentence or two?
- Put it this way: Superstrate sits on the website your client already has and makes sure everyone reading it, from Google and ChatGPT to the visitors themselves, gets an accurate picture of the business. Then it tells your client what those people actually wanted, in their own words. Source
- How do I introduce a client to the Superstrate team?
- The easiest route is for your client to book a walkthrough at superstrate.com.au/book and pick a time in the Cal.com calendar. If you'd rather make a warm introduction first, email hello@superstrate.com.au and mention who you're referring. Either way, they see the whole thing before deciding anything. Source
- What will it cost my client, roughly?
- For one business website it's A$850 a month, our founding rate for the first 10 businesses, plus a one time A$1,500 managed launch. That's A$2,350 for the launch and first month, in AUD excluding GST. After that it's monthly with no minimum term, and the team confirms which rate applies on the walkthrough. Source
- Can someone at our agency have access to the client's Superstrate dashboard?
- Superstrate has roles for viewing, editing and approving, with a record of who changed what, so a business can keep sensitive settings with the right people. The website doesn't say how an outside agency fits into those roles, so I won't guess. Ask the team on a walkthrough at superstrate.com.au/book. Source
- My client worries about privacy. What's the short version I can give them?
- Here's the short version: when a visitor types their name, phone or email to book or enquire, it goes through protected fields that never pass through the AI language model. Superstrate doesn't store voice recordings or use conversations to train AI. Conversations are stored in Sydney, though some AI and voice processing happens overseas. Source
- Will you use my client's name as a case study?
- Only if your client says so. Our Terms of Service say we won't use a customer's name, logo, private results or case study in our marketing without their permission. It's their business, so it's their call. Source
- Are the founders tech people or marketing people?
- Both, really. Nikhil and Oli call themselves marketers and entrepreneurs, and since 2019 they've built businesses together across marketing and technology, including products and automations. Superstrate grew out of that mix: they saw how hard businesses work to earn attention, and how little they learn once someone reaches the website. Source
- What's Build Your Buzz Creative Studio?
- It's the Australian business that builds and provides Superstrate as a managed service, which is why its name sits in our website footer. Build Your Buzz Creative Studio is based in the Australian Capital Territory, ABN 23 514 748 772, and it's the entity behind our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Source
- Is Superstrate part of a marketing agency?
- In a way. Superstrate is built and provided by Build Your Buzz Creative Studio, which has its own marketing team, but what you subscribe to is software with a managed launch. We work with the brand and messaging you already have, and if you want new branding or messaging created, Build Your Buzz can quote that separately. Source
- How do I book a walkthrough?
- Head to superstrate.com.au/book and open the booking calendar on Cal.com, then choose a time that suits you. It's a short call where we show you the full dashboard and leave time for your questions. You'll also find a Book a walkthrough button at the top and bottom of every page. Source
- The booking calendar isn't working. What now?
- Sorry about that. Email hello@superstrate.com.au, say you'd like a walkthrough, and the team will get back to you. In the meantime, I'm still here: ask me anything about Superstrate by text or voice and I'll do my best to help. Source
- Why did Superstrate email me?
- We get in touch with businesses we think Superstrate could help, using contact details published on their own website or in public business directories. We may also look at your public website to prepare an assessment of how well it serves visitors and search. Those details are used only for that, and you can ask us to stop at any time. Source
- How do I stop Superstrate emailing me?
- Reply to the email, or write to hello@superstrate.com.au, and we'll stop contacting you. Every marketing email we send also includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on those requests within 5 business days. Source
- Who do I contact about my personal information?
- Write to hello@superstrate.com.au, whether you want to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you. If it relates to a conversation on another business's website, tell us which business and roughly when. There's no fee, and we usually respond within 30 days. Source
- How do I make a complaint?
- Tell us what happened and the outcome you'd like by emailing hello@superstrate.com.au. We'll acknowledge it and work in good faith to put it right. For privacy complaints we aim to respond properly within 30 days, and if you're not satisfied, you can take it to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au. Source
- My web developer has a question about your bot or the AI agent connector. Who should they ask?
- The same inbox as everything else: hello@superstrate.com.au. Before they write, the technical details are laid out at superstrate.com.au/bot for SuperstrateBot, our website reader, and superstrate.com.au/agents for the AI agent connector. Things like robots.txt rules and the connector address are covered on those pages. Source
- Who's the legal entity I'd be signing with?
- You'd be signing with Build Your Buzz Creative Studio, ABN 23 514 748 772, the Australian business that builds and provides Superstrate. Your agreement is the Terms of Service plus your Service Order, and you'll see both before any payment. Whoever accepts needs to be at least 18 and authorised to act for your business. Source
- How do I know Superstrate is legit?
- Sensible thing to check. Superstrate comes from Build Your Buzz Creative Studio, an Australian business in the ACT, and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are published in full, including how we follow the Australian Privacy Principles. No payment is requested until you've seen your Service Order, and Superstrate is running on this site, so you can test it yourself. Source
- Will it make stuff up?
- Superstrate is designed to stay inside what you've approved. It answers from your business knowledge and only shares prices you've published, so it won't invent a quote or say a date is free. When it can't find a fact, it flags the gap for your team rather than guessing. Source
- How are visitor phone numbers and email addresses handled during bookings or enquiries?
- They are collected through protected fields on the screen and sent straight to the systems handling the request without ever passing through the AI language model. Superstrate also does not store recordings of visitors' voices. Source
- What's the return on it?
- I can't promise you a number, and I'd be wary of anyone who did. Your dashboard shows the estimated value of enquiries matched to the service values you provide. That's potential value, not revenue, but it tells you month by month whether Superstrate is earning its keep. Source
- Why not just hire someone part time?
- A good person is always worth having, and Superstrate isn't trying to replace them. It covers the visitor at 10 pm. When someone needs a human, it hands them to your team with everything they've already shared, so your person spends their time on the conversations that need them. Source
- My web developer could build a chatbot cheaper.
- They might, and they'd probably do a good job of the chat. Most of Superstrate sits behind it, though. Every answer is checked against your website, and the files search and AI systems read are kept in step with your pages, updated within the hour of a change. Source
- Can I pay less for fewer features?
- We don't do tiers, and there's a reason. The parts work as one system: what visitors ask reveals gaps, those gaps become answers you approve, and those answers reach the next visitor and every AI agent that asks about you. Take a piece out and the loop stops learning. Source
- Is there a discount?
- The only offer we have is the founding rate: A$850 a month for the first 10 businesses that join, as a thank-you for coming on early. We'll confirm on a walkthrough whether it applies to you. Once you're on it, your rate is protected for your first 12 months while you stay subscribed. Source
- Why is there a launch fee at all?
- Because Superstrate speaks for your business, and that deserves more than a login. The A$1,500 pays for us to do the setup with you: knowledge you approve, installation, testing and two months of weekly tuning. If we're not ready within 10 business days of your handover, your A$500 booking payment comes back. Source
- What if it doesn't pay for itself?
- Then you're not stuck with it. There's no minimum term and no early-exit fee, so you can cancel by email before any renewal. Access runs to the end of the month you've paid for, and you'll be deciding on what your dashboard shows, not on hope. Source
- Will it suit a small local business?
- It suits any business whose website matters to how people choose it. A small local business often benefits most, because Superstrate answers the questions your team can't get to after hours, takes people to the right page and shows you what they wanted. The monthly plan has no lock in, so you can judge it on results. Source
- What are GEO and AEO, and does Superstrate support them?
- AEO, or answer engine optimisation, examines how clearly your website answers the questions people ask, while GEO, or generative engine optimisation, looks at how AI systems discover and describe your business. Superstrate provides checks for both AEO and GEO to help ensure your content is easily identified and interpreted by AI and search systems. Source
- What types of businesses is Superstrate designed for?
- Superstrate is built for businesses that people choose carefully, where visitors tend to research and compare before making a commitment. It suits businesses where every enquiry counts, whether you operate a single location or multiple websites. What industry is your business in? Source
- How long does it take to set up Superstrate?
- Superstrate has a 10-day launch promise, meaning once you have handed over your business knowledge, the team has 10 business days to have it ready to go live. As a managed service, the team handles reviewing your messaging, drafting your knowledge, installing it, and testing it prior to launch. Source
- Is any customer data sent or processed offshore?
- Yes, some of Superstrate's processing happens overseas. For example, Google Cloud AI processing may run wherever Google has data centres, ElevenLabs stores voice data in the United States along with search, email, and website retrieval providers, Stripe uses Ireland and the United States, and Cloudflare operates worldwide. Source
- How does Superstrate handle customer privacy and data security?
- Superstrate protects contact and booking details through protected fields on screen that never pass through the AI language model, and does not store voice recordings. Conversations are stored in Sydney with some processing overseas, and your team is provided dashboard controls to manage data access requests, deletion, retention settings, and privacy notices. Source
- Can Superstrate handle bookings for my customers?
- With a supported booking connection, Superstrate helps visitors pick a time, collects their details, and completes the booking in your connected system. Where direct booking is not available, Superstrate guides the visitor to your own booking page so they can finish the booking there. Source
- What languages does Superstrate support?
- Superstrate supports 32 languages, allowing visitors to type or speak in a supported language of their choice. Any language your business leaves switched off is answered in English. Source
